Before you Choose a Betta
Before you choose to keep a betta, you should know that
THERE ARE MUCH EASIER PETS TO KEEP THAN FISH!
Keeping an aquarium is really maintaining an ecosystem. Anyone who is interested and committed can learn to do it, but there is much more to successful and responsible fish keeping than most people realize!
Your initial setup is going to cost at least $65, and there’s a pretty steep learning curve (you’ll need to know a little water chemistry, how to “cycle” your tank to make the water safe before you add any fish (which takes 2+ weeks) and lots of other important stuff!
Bettas are considered “easy” because of their hardiness, but they have the same basic needs as other aquarium fish, and deserve the same quality of life!
